Dog friendly restaurants and patios in Las Vegas
Vegas has a real dog culture once you get off the Strip. Summerlin and Henderson especially are full of patios where the host grabs a water bowl before they even seat you. This is the honest list of the spots Mango actually eats with us, plus the Strip patios that allow dogs and the heat rules that determine when patio season is open.
Vegas patio culture, briefly
Las Vegas is a desert city built around outdoor patios that are functionally usable for about seven months of the year. October through May is patio season. June through September is mostly indoors. That said, several restaurants have invested in misters, evaporative coolers, and shaded courtyards that extend the patio season into early summer and resume in late September.
The dog friendly culture is concentrated in two places: Summerlin and Henderson. The Strip has a handful of dog welcoming patios but casino rules change and the heat radiating off concrete makes the Strip a tough environment for a doodle even when dogs are allowed.
1. Lazy Dog Restaurant (Summerlin and Henderson)
Lazy Dog is the easy top pick. They have an actual dog menu (grilled chicken with brown rice, grilled beef with brown rice, and a vanilla ice cream cup), water bowls are brought before menus, and the patio at both the Downtown Summerlin and Henderson Galleria locations is built around dog seating. Mango has been going to the Summerlin location since he was a puppy.
Why a Goldendoodle owner cares: the staff genuinely likes the dogs. You will see five or six other dogs on the patio at any given time. The grilled chicken is plain, vet safe, and a good post park reward.
- Locations: Downtown Summerlin, Henderson (Green Valley Pkwy)
- Dog menu: Yes, real food
- Water bowl: Brought automatically
- Heat strategy: Misters and shade canopy
2. Hexx Kitchen + Bar (The Strip)
Hexx at Paris Las Vegas is the dog friendly Strip pick that locals actually use. The patio overlooks the Bellagio fountains and dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area. Bring your own water bowl and pick a non peak time. The view is the draw, the food is solid American comfort.
- Location: Paris Las Vegas, the Strip
- Patio policy: Dogs allowed on the outdoor patio
- Best time: 11am brunch or post sunset
3. Echo & Rig (Tivoli Village, Summerlin)
Echo & Rig is a butcher and steakhouse in the Tivoli Village shopping district in Summerlin. The patio is large, fully shaded, and the staff is consistently dog friendly. Tivoli Village itself is one of the most dog welcoming outdoor centers in Vegas, with fountains, shade, and several other dog patio options.
- Location: Tivoli Village, Summerlin
- Vibe: Upscale steakhouse with relaxed patio
- Best for: Date night with the dog
4. Crafted Bistro (Henderson)
Crafted Bistro in Henderson is a neighborhood favorite with a real dog welcoming patio. They keep dog water bowls behind the host stand. The food is approachable American with a craft beer list, and the patio is small enough to feel calm but not cramped.
5. The Black Sheep (Southwest Vegas)
The Black Sheep is a Filipino fusion restaurant in the southwest valley with a covered patio that allows dogs. The food is the draw, the dog friendly patio is the bonus. Smaller patio so call ahead on weekends.
6. Spread Mediterranean Kitchen (Henderson)
Spread is a casual Mediterranean spot in Henderson with a covered patio and a dog friendly policy. Hummus, kebabs, and bowls. Good for a fast lunch with the dog after a Sunset Park morning.
7. Tap Sports Bar (MGM Grand)
Tap Sports Bar at MGM is one of the more relaxed Strip patios for dogs. The patio faces the Strip and the energy is pub forward. A good option if you are walking a section of the Strip with your doodle and need a break with shade and water.
8. Other neighborhood favorites
- Grape Street Cafe (Downtown Summerlin and Henderson): Wine bar with a spacious dog friendly patio. Wine flight friendly, doodle friendly.
- BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (Henderson, Summerlin): Patio policy is dog friendly. Reliable lunch option with shaded patios.
- True Food Kitchen (Downtown Summerlin): Healthier menu with a covered dog welcoming patio.
- Yard House (Town Square, Downtown Summerlin): Big shaded patios at both locations, dog friendly.
- The Patio at Tivoli Village: Several restaurants on the same outdoor courtyard, all generally dog welcoming.

Strip rules for a Goldendoodle
The Strip itself is a tough environment for a doodle and you should be deliberate about when and where you bring one. Things to know:
- Casino interiors are pets prohibited. Service dogs only inside the gaming floor. Outdoor patios are the only legal pet seating at most casino restaurants.
- Heat radiates off concrete. The Strip in summer is meaningfully hotter than the suburbs. Skip Strip patios from June through August unless it is after 9pm.
- Foot traffic is high. A doodle that is uneasy in crowds will struggle on Strip sidewalks. Work the long line and crowd training first. Our Goldendoodle leash training guide covers the loose leash setup for busy environments.
- Call ahead. Strip pet policies change. Hexx, Tap, and a handful of others have been consistent for years, but a phone call avoids the walk back.
Patio etiquette every Vegas spot expects
- Leash at all times. Even at the dog menu spots, no off leash.
- Tuck under the table or beside your chair. Do not block the aisle.
- Bring a chew or stuffed Kong for the long tableside wait.
- Skip table feeding. Tableside dog menu items are fine, sharing your steak is a hard no.
- If your doodle barks at every passing dog, work that off site first. The patio is the test, not the training ground. Our stop the barking guide covers the trigger fixes.
- Tip well. The staff is doing extra work for you. Vegas service tipping is 20 percent floor.
Best Vegas dog friendly brunch options
Brunch is the secret weapon for a doodle parent in Vegas. Restaurants are busy but not packed, the heat is manageable until late morning, and most spots are happy to seat a dog on the patio before noon. Top picks:
- Lazy Dog (Summerlin) for the dog menu and weekend energy.
- Eggslut at Cosmopolitan for a Strip patio brunch (call ahead).
- Babystacks Cafe for pancake style brunch with a dog patio.
- True Food Kitchen for a healthier brunch in Downtown Summerlin.
Quick FAQ
Are dogs allowed on Las Vegas Strip sidewalks? Yes, on leash. Many resort sidewalks are technically private property but enforcement is minimal as long as your dog is leashed and you pick up. Skip the Strip in summer regardless.
What about Downtown Container Park? Container Park allows leashed dogs in the outdoor common areas. Several food vendors have small patios, and the live music plus crowd makes for a busy environment. Good for confident doodles, skip if your dog is reactive.
Where does Mango eat?Lazy Dog Summerlin is the rotation default. Echo & Rig at Tivoli for nicer dinners. Grape Street Cafe for wine nights. Full Vegas hometown guide is on the Goldendoodle Las Vegas hub.
